Samael Aun Weor (Víctor Manuel Gómez Rodríguez) was born in Bogota, Colombia, in 1917 and died in Mexico City in 1977. He is considered to be among the greatest contemporary philosophers and authors of an international reach.
His great spiritual inquietudes and capabilities led him to carry out deep investigations in the fields of science, philosophy and esotericism.
He upholds the view that the substantial transformation of society starts with the transformation of the individual and in his works he traces the main lines of esoteric, authentic psychology, the methodology and the discipline for inner change.
He is the founder of the ‘Gnosis’ philosophical current and he defines three factors of the Revolution of Consciousness, which lead to the inner self-realisation of man. They are:
- The Death of the multiple ‘I’.
- The Birth of the Inner Man and
- The Sacrifice towards humanity.
